Hi,
My name is Ray Brookes and I am a new member, signing up a day or so ago. I am a singer/songwriter (well ... a songwriter anyhow; calling myself a singer is a bit of a stretch) My main genre for writing is mostly blues/roots music though sometimes I tend to drift over towards folky kinda stuff.
The instruments I use are 6 & 12 string acoustic guitars, a Fender Strat, Ibanez bass and Lee Oscar blues harps. My piano/midi controller is an 88 key Yamaha something or other and the DAW I use is Logic Pro X. My mic is a Rode NT1000 condenser.
I'm a grumpy old man of 65 living in Sydney, Australia and that is me in a nutshell. When I was a young kid working in various recording studios I always dreamed of having my own studio one day. Now I have one here in the back room of my house and half the time I don't know what to do with it LOL.
Hi Ray and welcome from the English east Midlands.

Hello & Welcome from London :-)
Hi Ray,
I am Ian and I'm from Melbourne.
Welcome to Songcrafters. They are lots of talented and knowledgeable people on this forum and if you stick around I'm sure that you will have fun and will learn something as well.
There are lots of areas to ask questions, show off your gear and post songs.
Best wishes and welcome again,
Ian

Welcome Ray, you fit our demographic well..... ;)
The problem with our home studios is that they have more gear and capabilities in the computer than most studios I went in in the 70s and 80s could ever dream of!
Welcome! ( from another grumpy, getting older man!)
Thanks for the warm welcome, guys; great to be here.

Hi Ray, and a belated warm welcome from Dunkeld Scotland
Four-year-belated welcome from Madagascar! I was listening to your latest song (https://songcrafters.org/forum/index.php?topic=34704.0), and wondering if you had an official website; wondering just how established you are as an artist. I was surprised to discover that your online footprint isn't as big as I'd expect it to be, given the quality of your music.
I found an old music forum post from not long after you joined Songcrafters where someone had heard a single song of yours and was hungry for more:
Anyone Ever Heard Of Ray Brookes? - PG Music Forums (https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=623699)
The second response in that thread included a link to this post.
You joined SC right about the time I was beginning one of my long SC blackouts. So when I returned, you had already established yourself as presence here. To me it seemed Orwellian: Ray Brookes is a member of Songcrafters. Ray Brookes has always been a member of Songcrafters.
So: Welcome.
Thanks,Ted for the kind words. I've never really bothered with websites, faeces book, Instagram or any other kind of social media; just not my thing. I'm happy and content enough just to post my stuff here these days and hope some folks find it palatable. Thanks again for the belated welcome!

I'm disappointed in myself that I never thought of that. From now my disparaging name for that will be (American English spelling, if you don't mind):
Fecesbook! It goes perfectly with (Chinese pronunciation):
Xitter
