Hi guys. I'm researching the subject of selling original music online. Would appreciate any practical hints on where to start. Of particular interest would be your own real experience with some of the music selling platforms out there. Thanks!

Btw, not entirely sure if this is the best part of the forum to start this thread.

Distrokid... that's all you need to know! £20 a year to get your music up on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, GooglePlay, Deezer, Microsoft Groove & a whole load of other outlets. You keep 100% of your earnings too - you just pay the flat yearly fee. After many, many attempts at selling my music via sites like Bandcamp & getting nowhere, I'm finally making money from my tunes. You can get airplay by following small radio stations on Twitter & submitting your music to them as well as submitting your stuff to the BBC Introducing service (if you live in the UK). My music may not be paying all the bills yet, but it DID pay for last week's groceries, which is a start. Wouldn't have happened without Distrokid... give them a try!
