Not music related but for anyone growing up in the UK in the 60s, 70s, and 80s this guy would have been a big part of your life. R.I.P. John.

Sad news.. was a big Blue Peter fan in the 60's and 70's. John was a great presenter.. I always remember him most for his free-fall parachuting episodes

Yes remember him pretty well... himself and the co-presenter - (was it Peter Purvis?) were a good team and the woman too, but i forget her name. Was a good programme for kids. I remember trying to make the "Action Man House" they showed you how to make. I never had any of that bloody sticky back plastic they kept going on about so i had to try and make do with normal sellotape. My efforts never lasted too long as far as I can remember!! :)
