You bite down hard when you pop that pill
You try to stop but you love that thrill
And nothing I say can make you throw them away

The promise you made so long ago
Has faded away with a bean and some blow
And now you lie here not hearing the words that I say

You leave with him in the middle of the night
Then you call me up when you have another fight

I beg you to leave him and come home with me
You're hurting yourself but you just can't see
The pain on my face as I am walking away

You bite down hard when you pop that pill
You try to stop but you love that thrill
And nothing I say can make you throw them away

Songwriting as I like it. Less is more - which you proved again with this song.

Awesome percussion, T.C. - loved the desolate feel in the lyrics and that haunting slide lead. Solid!

Cool song. I am curious, did you write the words/vocal melody first, or did you start with the guitar chords?

T.C. Elliott

@Beleg - Chords first. And I had the title to start so the first line came pretty quick. I got the first verse then the 'chorus' section was a bit of trial and error. When I hit on the G it kind of fell into place. Pretty easy write actually, but it took a while to finalize the lyric. Recording took a while as well, but I only did a couple of takes of the vocal and kept the last one (which might not have been the best.) And just kept adding parts till it felt like the arrangement was fairly finished and then I stopped.

Thanks for listening (everyone.)
