I'm always curious about what music other people are listening to.

I'm a big fan of the late Carlos Paredes, the portuguese guitarist. Listen to him, on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwhV1ivYNsQ. And more on https://www.instituto-camoes.pt/cvc/disco/68/carlosparedes03.html. (Click the speaker below the photo)

Also like Yawning Man, https://www.myspace.com/yawningman.

What about you?

I liked the material I found from Carlos Paredes.

I came across this guy on myspace/youtube, VLADISWAR NADISHANA.

He seems to be able to play just about any instrument he gets his hands on well, most of which are very exotic, rare instruments.

That's great! Thanks for sharing.

I really liked the Chinese Hu Lu Si and the Bulgarian Tambora.

That's good. I don't know why but I can't seem to enjoy this band. In my opinion right now I feel that their music is way to repetitive and a bit boring. Maybe in the future I will give them another try.

Probably going to sound ignorant, but I am familiar with the name never actually heard any material before though from Jeff Buckley, this is pretty cool, reminds me of Muse a bit... which is a band I would recommend if you aren't familiar and like this.

I only heard some songs off their latest album and it sounded far too commercial for me, let me find a decent youtube clip, they somehow pull off things very well live that I would not expect to hear after hearing recordings:

you should check out the non live version too, that bass sound is impressive for the opening riff:

This isn't exactly the typical type of music I would listen to, if I just saw what the band looked like and didnt hear them I probably would avoid listening to them, I came across them on tv on some odd channel which showed an entire live performance and was blown away. The don't really fit into any specific/typical genre, which I can really respect.

Other than that I listen to a lot of things, I guess I have a diverse taste when I get into it, but am pretty picky. Even if the music is terrible, if the musicianship is good, I can still find interest, and vice versa.

I usually hate threads with "what are you listening to" in forums, though something non specific like here can open up some new doors.

I guess for a really random list of some of the things I listen to lately here you go: Dead Can Dance, Saint Saenz (mainly Danse Macabre),  Danzig, Rush, Johnny Cash, Darkthrone, Bathory, Primus, In Extremo and a lot of underground Black Metal from the early 90's.
