A multi-tribute to the Norway Met I attended, the MBR, Jemima's Kite and Songcrafters  :)

And this perfect moment that I still have as my phone lock screen:

Keeping it simple for this one: a deliberate exercise in 4-track, 3 chord honesty. I wanted something that could be strummed around a campfire.

My first song post was September 1st 2008. That was 4-tracks too.

Two layers of Tanglewood ASM acoustic (recorded through the MBR mic with live backing vocals / harmonies), some Garageband Alchemy synth as a rhythmic wash, and lead vocals.  

All recorded and mixed on the MBR of course.

Thank you to Pedro, 64 Guitars, the Admin team, my Jemima's Kite brothers, and all the wonderful people I've collaborated with and listened to over the years. This place really changed and affected my life.

The lyrics aren't arty but they are sincere...

My Tascam multi-track gave up the ghost
The circuitry was fried

This is excellence in songwriting and performance. The intro with those great harmonies really sets the mood. Your lyrics and melody just draws me in and keeps my interest. That Alchemy synth as a rhythmic wash really blends well with the acoustic on the left then how it fades sounds so good. Very good work Tim! Love it.

when i saw the opening line
"My Tascam multi-track gave up the ghost" i thought how the hell can Tim make a lyric like that work? Well my concerns where misplaced, this is a belter brother, one i can relate to, though my opening line would have been "my fostex multi-tracker..........................".

Who would have thought when we first switched on our MBR's all those years ago, without the the first clue how to work them, that we would be listening to self penned songs as fantastic as this today.

This is brilliant Tim. A great tribute... but to me you have demonstrated the power of a simple song. I think its hits harder than many songs, with more intricate arrangements. Super stuff indeed - a keeper.

Wonderful tribute to the good old site and all who sail her. I love the strumminess (you got some great tone from the mic), your vocal delivery, and the live backing vocals on your guitar tracks - adds an extra live element to the song. The Alchemy synth patch sounds perfect with acoustic guitars, too - nice 'n' zingy!

Yes, the little silver brick of dreams has served you and all of us well.

Oh, that majestic strum - Captivating!! What an amazing creation, I absolutely love it. The vocals just swirl and whirl around to the point where I'm lost in thought, and how could it get any better that that!!

 Great place there in Norway. It is unbelievable how far you songcrafters are ready to travel to meet your musician friends. It gives more depth to this hobby and members you met are so familiar after that, dont you think? Ou. Did I mention about harmonies? Great!

This is pure magic. We'll be back there... hopefully we will meet again before to long.

Tim ~ it has been a while...  But like a comet I return every now and then.  love the picture and the song is awesome.  Not sure what the future may hold, but would love to one day take a spoonful of music "in that cabin on the fjord"...

Can't believe its been 10 years, and just imagine all the music that has come out of that "little silver brick".

Just popped in and saw this. Listened and was blown away (as usual). It reminded me of how the site grew and developed and how some great musical friendships were formed. Those friendships delivered lots of great music over the years and it's good to be reminded of them. And as always Tim, a beautifully written, sung and performed song. Bravo!

And watch out btw, I'll be back in the New Year......

Your intro grabbed me right from the first note and got me with the "feelz."  This is smooth and it sounds good and you've done a great job of capturing that element of the story that relates to us all, I think. You made the specific universal and I think I know exactly how you feel.

Oh my this is damn fine.......6000 songs fished from the stream....thats the goods man.......it feels like that at times, fishing these songs from the stream.......I need to get my fishing rod back out of storage and see whats in the stream........you have inspired me.  Beautiful song.
