Wow, Pinedog! This is real quality. You nailed the guitar, and your brother's vocals are the icing on the cake. This was a great NY track, and now it's a great tribute!

Thanks you guys...i appreciate the kind words and will pass 'em along to brother Bill, without whom this song would never have been done. We did several that day..they were being compiled in to a Neil Young tribute Cd called "Forever Young". It was the last thing i recorded before i did my first CD of originals, "Dirt Roads & Time Past" After that was done, i sold my Fostex Vf-80 and upgraded to my BR1200CD.
Never regretted that decision!

BB,FM93, and Ted...i thank you...and my brother thanks you. Gotta get that boy online! he lives in the middle of nowhere and dial up is his only option...which means no streaming audio or video. Bill got me started on guitar when i was 22. He said "you're never too old to learn". I'm 58 now. It was good advice.

Thanks Satch and Nigel. Brother Bill only lives a couple hours away but trying to get together to record happens about twice a year ..if that. He started playing at age 10 and learned to sing early on as well. He played out for years but these days barely touches his guitars. He works on computers at work and thinks having one at home would remind him of work. He has no idea what he is missing and how much fun there is to be had on sites like this. I'll never quit pestering him to get one!

i can't remember. It was late in '04 as i recall. Probably went direct with an E/A guitar in to the Fostex Vf80 and used an "acoustic" patch. Seems alot of the stuff i did on that machine sounded compression heavy...but it was probably due to my ignorance and lack of experience. Bill's mic was probably an MXL 900 or an SM58.
