Don't Think it.....PLAY IT!

« on: April 08, 2009, 03:27:54 AM »

Several of you can’t wait so here we go………..The Final line-up is confirmed the sound checks done and the stage is set for the First:

“MICRO BR TRANS-ATLANTIC BLUES FESTIVAL”

To get you in the mood while your reading, listen to BR’s most prolific Blues player, Tony aka Witchita and the great vocalist Tim “Greeny” Green giving you a sample of their Great Blues…………(see below)

If your juices are flowing and your Mojo is working read on…….. Cool

This was conceived following Greeny’s inspiring treatment of “Slide on Home” and lg’s post wishing we could all get together for a concert which got me thinking….Obviously we are from all over the world so a live gig is impossible so this is my attempt at organising a Virtual concert/jam session……… Shocked

So a couple of weeks ago I selected some High Quality Backers sent them winging their way round the world to 3 of our most Talented vocalists, Kody in Nebraska, Wiley in Iowa in the good ole’ USA, and last but not least Mr Tim Green in London England…….

They had 2 different and challenging backers each and I asked them to select one (or both) add some lyrics and their unique vox and of course plenty of space for solos…….

Here’s what’s going to happen…….

Over the next few hours they will introduce their work in this thread……….
So we will have at least 4 or 5 backers to salivate and listen to….. Cheesy

The objective is get as many members to have a go at any backer of their choice…………….
We are encouraging everybody and anybody to embellish the backers with anything e.g. vocal harmonies, percussion, strings and maybe a few of us may try a guitar solo or two….
As this has been started on the micro BR it is open to any member on any recording equipment…..

For the more blues influenced musicians it would be great to have a go at all of them trying for a different sound or tempo on each song or even pass them round adding stuff……

Important…Please open a post in the BR’s “Collaborations” thread for each piece of work. Also please start each new topic with your name and then the title to avoid confusion e.g. “48 Come Back Baby Blues”

Hope everybody enjoys this Blues Festival……………I know I will…..

MIKE aka 48

Oh and Kody I used that Sony eso whatever mic on these 2 songs last Friday. Was going to fine tune a little but came down with bad fever sat.  and haven't been able to sing since.  But I thought the little mic did sound good.  AND YOUR song rocked.  Wish I could play guitar like all of you and join in.  Maybe I will think of something. LOL

Kody, Wiley this is so incredible.  You both have such expressive voices.  I am in awe of your talents.  I really LOVE your second song Wiley, I am going to have to be very careful with that one, it is really special sounding, I don't want to mess up.  Kody, your song sounds like a SRV treatment would work.  Just super jobs.  I have my work cut out for me for sure.

Hey 48 If it was to be a live concert we would have that stuff.  My only regret was it was kind of my first rough take and I wanted to redo it. AND then the nasty cold etc. hit so oh well.    AN Mc at heart .  You deserved the credit and some attention without you this wouldn't have happened.  We need to think of another festival.  Can't wait to hear what everyone else does.
