Okay guys, this is just an experiment since no-way can I compete with all the great talent here.... Shocked

More an attempt to display a different style to the song if anything.  Man this tune is hot.  Played it a dozen times and never get tired of it!   Cool

Thanks for posting it Kody!

Great playing hardlock.  Nice clean tone compliments your great note runs and expressive choice of notes (a lot more than just pentatonic notes going on here).  Really great jazzy solo at the end.

I enjoyed this take very much.
You are also very good with the guitar. I don't see that it is so different of
a style really tho.... a bit jazzy, yes, but still blues.
you did a great job, and your expression came thru nicely!

Hardlock  this was great.  I thought it sounded very bluesy. So many styles showing up this was just great.

Thanks much everyone for the encouragement!  Keeps me motivated to want to keep practicing.  Smiley

Kody, I am curious as to what guitar / tone / etc. you used on your leads on the one you did.  Also the voice effects in the middle break are really neat.

Did you use any MBR effects for that or outside gear?  Love the contrast it achieves!

Hardlock, for my version of this song I used my dad's Strat~ none of my guitars would quite do the trick lol! I ran the strat through a Line 6 Pod xt ~ I used a Class A-30 TB patch which is modeled after a Vox AC30...Plenty of Plate reverb and a little chorus. The key is setting the drive so you get a little growl when you romp on her~ but still sounds clean otherwise......

I recorded this all on my BR900cd btw. For the vocals, the main part I used a condenser mic ran through a mixer~ On the middle break, I used a MIC preset from the br900 called "BULLHORN"....I was happy that I finally got to use that effect on something!!

Great stuff, you did really well here. I love the last chord and few notes you play right at the end as well. Good controlled playing and a really nice sound as well. It's a bit different but I like that - you're right, don't try to out-blues the experts but do something with your own style. And it worked!

Cheers,

Nigel

Trying to catch up .... not  an easy task with the volume of the posts heare these last few days. Sorry I didn't see this one before, IT'S GREAT. Really love the smooth playing and the lovely sound of that guitar. And yes it's not easy to get something out here that's not already played, but you sure did!!!!! Great work!

Cheers
