Weird scenes inside the goldmine

WWW

It's an often-covered Motown song, but The Band did a lovely job of it at Woodstock. This is my interpretation - a bit more Greeny than The Band, but I can't play guitar like Robbie Robertson, lol.

This is 8-tracks worth - the most I've ever used on a song. It has a 12 string acoustic, telecaster, bass, lead vocal, two layers of backing vox, and two layers of strings - all done on the BR.

Got to catch up on all the posts I've missed now...  Grin

That's to be debated, but you can definitely sing better - His former bandmates used to turn his mic down a lot...  Cheesy Robbie was kind of tonedeaf sometimes from what I hear...

I like the Greenyfied version - you can't go wrong with this!!

Yeah! More tracks makes it more better!   Cheesy
The layers of strings make a smooth pad for those great jangling guitars.  You've managed to have all those parts arranged so that each one can be heard clearly in the mix.  This is one of the best 'all M-BR' mixes I've heard.  Sounds very pro.
Well done Master Greeny!

Another listen - Fantastic!! Your music sounds clean and clear without blemishes. You must get the most out of every track, because I thought some of your earlier posts might have had more.

As you guys say across the pond "Flippin' Hell!!!)

Excellent production/playing!!

Wonderful vocals here.  Your vocals are soaring lately, really soulful and clear.  I can't believe that you haven't gone past 8 tracks in all this time???  That is crazy, all the songs you have done.  I am with Mark here, you really know how to get the most out of every track, effective use of panning I guess.

Welcome to Hooperville....... Lush, lush, lush production, using those extra tracks gives great depth to this. Fantastic job, as usual really ell played and sung but a really mature production job here that takes it to another level. Fantastic!

Cheers,

Nigel

Tim, this is got to be one of the best arrangements and quality recording I have heard so far - and there are quite a few good postings in this forum.  Only 8 tracks!?  Man, I am happy to just have 4 that sound 1/2 way decent...  "Flipping Hell" and "limpin lizards" all in one.  Excellent cover a'la Greeny!!!  Your vocals/chorus was damn good!  And cannot forget the guitars ---  uhhh the 12... my favorite!
