Another one for the fest.  Great song from The Band, I did it in my own way (which means lots of guitar solos  Cheesy).  All played by me (strat & bass) into the microBR.  As for the harmonies, I had a little help from my new toy, a Harmony-G (vocal effects stomp box).

I agree with Mark on the backing vox !!!

Great performance all the way BB. Every guitar (including bass) so well played. And  and that solo starting at 2:30 is just perfect for the song !!

Good tune BB. Loved the backing vox as well.

P.S. - Never quite understood other musician's fascination with "the Band". the only other tune I ever heard from them was "the Weight". Now I can say I know "2" songs by the Band. Thanks for the education!

Great job, the backing vox are the standout here for me. Great harmonies and very well recorded, they sound fantastic and really lift the song. Guitar playing is as strong as ever, nice sharp sound on this one.

Cheers,

Nigel

P.S. - Never quite understood other musician's fascination with "the Band".

They're not hard to like or understand. You only have to watch their Martin Scorcese concert movie 'The Last Waltz' to see what the fuss is all about. They're just incredibly multi-talented musicians. Any band that can get Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Clapton, Dr John, Neil Diamond, and Dylan (amongst others) on a stage with them have to be a pretty class act!

Hey Greeny - I didn't mean to offend anyone. I've seen parts of "The Last Waltz".  I was a long time ago, and I never made it through the whole movie.

I guess I have just never had one of their songs "connect" with me.
Nothing against their talent or influence - just a personal thing. I may have to go back and re-visit their catalogue. Maybe I just haven't heard enough of their music.

Are there any songs that you (or other members here) can personally suggest I listen to?

Thanks,

Lol - I'm not offended. To be honest, I caught them pretty late on. I'd never even hear of them until my mid 20's when I just happened to see the Last Waltz on TV. I was pretty hooked from that point. My favourite part of the movie is Joni Mitchell doing 'Coyote' with them, but all their own songs are amazing too. It's hard to know where to start with recommendations. 'Music from Big Pink' is widely regarded as a landmark, masterpiece album. Personally, the tracks I especially like are 'King Harvest', 'It Makes no Difference', and 'Ophelia'. 'The Night they drove Old Dixie down' and 'The Weight' are the real big, critically-acclaimed hitters though. Timeless tracks!

This is my personal favourite...

I love footage of them in the studio... it shows the incredible dynamic and talent between them...

Sorry to hijack your thread BB - but I know you'll approve of some Band preaching!!!

Cool Greeny - They show "The Last Waltz" on our public access channel once in a while so I'll grab a few beers and watch it the next time it come around.
I definetly prefer the second song to the first (Makes no Difference). The first song reminds me too much of the "Saturday Night Live" house band.

Thanks for the links.

P.S - Sorry for the hijack as well BB.
