I'm sure I answered this post 2 hours ago!! Am I getting delutional or has that happened to others too? Anyway : Great stripped-down NY here!! Sounds really great and has a "live" unplugged feeling to it. How did you record this? Sure fits right in on the unplugged stage of the NeilFest !!! Index updated (2 hours ago !!) NeilFest index |

Right on!! Very slick!! I can't sing and play at the same time (Heck, I can hardly play or sing ). Totally impressed with the vox and the guitar playing. Bet you've worn the varnish right off that thing by now!! Rock on!! Mark I'm sure I answered this post 2 hours ago!! Am I getting delutional or has that happened to others too?
I think I've had this problem, only most of the time I catch it - a huge delay when I click on the post button - I'm off doing other things and come back to the topic list, but my post isn't there. I sometimes copy my comments if I see a stall now and then repost if nothing happens. I don't think it out of the ordinary - just the way of the world |

I can picture NY singing this live.... I saw him once in Detroit at the Ritz Theater - way cool - he was all by himself - no back up - and he entertained a packed house - he would just grab his guitar and play something like this - lead solo and all. NY flipped me out when he played "like a hurricane" on his ancient historic pipe organ....
Nice raw solo-NeilYoung-live cover!

wow satchwood, that sounds awesome that you saw him at the ritz theater. i have not had the pleasure of seeing him live all by himself:( i saw him live with booker t and the mg's at finsbury park. i sure would love to see him perform live by himself:) thanks guys for the support n feedback!:) yeah how i recorded this one - i'll explain n share. i achieved the live sound after building my confidence up with my previous takes with 'keep on rockin in the free world'. i took a different approach - plugged my acoustic guitar straight into line in. recorded with no effects. kept that tight while singing quietly in my mind the lyrics. the credit goes to the onboard micro br mic - which i used to put down the vox. i kept to the rule of singing slow n clear - making a strong effort to pronounce the words. the onboard mic responded very well to this. i mixed in live mix. and used 5 reverb both for the guitar n vox in mastering mode! it really did not take long. n i have learnt that if you manipulate the onboard br mic.. you can get great live results. which is great news n for us musician on the move. should we wish to visit the great wall of china, play in the grand canons, or at nigar falls. this little powerhouse - mbr is right there to captured the action. yeeeah:)
