Now that is really something.  What a way to raise the bar Geir.  Moody, atmospheric, spine tingling, lots of WOW.  Great re-interpretation.  Lets have some more great re-interpretations.  Satch where are you, lets have a satched-up Neil Young song!!!!!

Thank you guys !!! Really appreciate it. I felt quite "naked" doing this stripped-down version so I'm glad you enjoyed it ..

Be sure to check out the index, there's links there to a couple of other boards than the MicroBR

And Satch: with your signature text you just have no excuse for not posting a NY song !!!! Post it in collabs if you need someone to do the vox or whatever ...

And remember there's no need to hold back if someone else have posted "your" song. So far we have 3 versions of "The Needle and the Damage Done"  and I don't mind if we get more !!! Or more Heart of gold or Harvest or whatever your poison is !!!

This is perfect - very much what I expected to hear in the 'fest!!. This album, I started with scratchy hand me down LP's to a crusty tape to a CD I bought myself. All of it worn down to a nub!

Love it, Geir!

Later,

What an amazing interpretation. Your vocal carries this beautifully, and it shows what great melodies NY writes even when everything is stripped away. A cracking cover, Geir. Who'd have though the Neil-fest would bring out so much great music and talent?!

Thank you Mike and Tim !!

I agree Tim that NY wrote some great melodies that don't need much of an arrangement ... this one is in essence just one note (D) sustained throughout the entire song.

BTW congrats Tim on being the first 2000+poster !!!

Great rendition! This what music is all about to me...no rules! I agree with Tim..a good melody needs little else. Real nice job on the vox Geir and an overall very imaginative and creative version. Now if someone can explain what the hell NY was talking about in here i'll be in your debt   Wink
