Punks mellowing with age?...say it's not true. Here's the title track from The Jam's debut LP...and easily one of my favorites from the golden year of punk rock - 1977. Written by Paul Weller.

Another unplugged cover of the Jam - Facemask93 posted an exceptional take on The Butterfly Collector a couple days ago.

steel string acoustic - on board mic
nylon string acoustic - line in
wicker shaker
roto-tom played with finger tips
double tracked vocals

Enjoy, and thanks for listening.

Sandy.

Excellent, Sandy! This and Facemask's version of Butterfly Collector will end in my mp3-player as "Jam rarities" :-). A very fine view of that legendary tune! This works absolutely well on acoustic  - and especially the way you made this!! Sounds, vocals, percussion, production and arrangement. I'm sure that each fan of the Jam would like this. Style!!! I really like this!

I've never heard of the Jam Gritter, but this sounds pretty cool to me.

I like the double-track vox, and the shaker.

Cool stuff!

Very original take on this classic from the Jam, Sandy - I bet Paul, Bruce, and old Whatzizname Wink  would buy you drinks after hearing this one!

Love these unplugged versions of punk songs that have been showing up in this fest.
