Been working alot this week and just haven't had much energy to record the last few days.  I've also been performing this tune alot this week, fast and fun, very happy. I've been hearing it kinda soulful in the back of my head so I found a free hour and a 4th wind and recorded this live take. 2 tracks, mxl900 mic for vocals, the uke was plugged straight in with my suction cup pickup onto the br900.

All hail the hook, as he takes to the Sunshine for a bit of a walk.

And what a mighty fine walk it is, Sir.

Made my day.

I just love it when you do uke and vox covers (and your originals) and this is the perfect way to start the day Smiley
(I've got a version of this one too!)

Hey Hook -
Great version, you made it completely your own. Mrs B walked in whilst I was playing it - and she said "that's Hook" without looking :-)
I love it when something new and different is added to covers, particularly when they are so well known.
And the sunshine is out today, its baking hot, as least 70. Makes a change from rain :-)

Oh yes, this works Smiley

Have to admit that I have had always had a sneaking regard for this song as well, but I've never investigated it.

When you said you'd been hearing it kinda soulful I wasn't sure what that would mean. But yes, on listening, I can hear exactly what you mean.

Excellent performance - it just oozes "this guy knows how to deliver a song so that people have to listen".

Too cool, Hook!  Love the stripped down sound, excellent recording quality on both vox and uke.  You sound GREAT!  DD
