I really have gone into risky and deadly waters even thinking about covering Vann the man. But i wanted to challenge myself. I know i`ll never come close to his wicked voice but I wanted to try. I love every song he has ever written but wanted to do an acoustic for a change so decided on this. I did it kinda the same but i fingerpicked the right pan guitar and added smoothsteel from thumbjam for a sorta different feel. Here`s Vanncad`s song http://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?topic=3876.msg42350#msg42350I hope you like it my Canadian friend! Come back as soon as possible after you get your Studio/ Panic room/ Bomb shelter/ beer fridge/ lingerie room/ Grow-op finished!! Enjoy!

Excellent cover of a fabulous song! The Thumbjam steel guitar is a nice addition. Gives it a bit of a country-rock sound.

Blimy Eric , you darn near pulled out all the stops on this one mate , it's interesting to hear an electric player whose style & technique sounds just as good , if not better to my ears , when playing acoustic . I'm sure Van the man will love this cover , you've more than done yourself proud on the vocal front , I'm knocked out at what a versatile musician you are , & you just get better . 5 Stars all round my Maple leaf friend

Wow - Eric - my eyes are wet. Thank you! I'm truly honoured. 64 sent me note to let me know someone covered one of my songs, but I never expected this! You really did something special with this song. That steel is exactly what this song needed. I love the vibe. I couldn't play a solo like that if I took lessons from Yngwie Malmsteen for a year! Thanks for taking the time to do this. It sounds incredible! I really love the layers of sound you built up and everyone is right - you've got a really great voice! I don't really know what else to say - except damn! Thank's again. You just made my day. P.S. - the grow-op is done, just have to get some heat lamps for it. |

Thanks for the great comments. This song has been bothering me for a couple days because it sounded like it was recorded in a tin cup. Every track is exactly the same. Just tweeked things and mastered different. I should of known from the start. I replaced it with a newer version in the player! |
