Here's a picture of my 1977 LP Custom. Natural finish with gold hardware. It's not perfect but in good condition and plays and sounds like a classic LP should sound. I've not played it a lot in the last few years but lately it's made it on to a couple of my recordings. I had forgotten what a great guitar it is. It's currently hanging on my studio wall waiting for the next song. Farrell ![[image]](http://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=14715.0;attach=14693) |

Farrell, Lovely looking guitar. Personally, I've never really got on Gibson's as always found them way too heavy physically, that's probably coz I'm used to the whimpy Fender-weight guitars But Gibbies do have 'that' sound and look bloody marvellous. I would say though that any Gibson is nothing as heavy a strat I once played made from solid marble (I sh*t you not), the chap in the shop said it had infinite sustain, that was if you could pick it up - but that's another story. Yeah - a strat made out of stone - I didn't buy it! B. |

(don't remember exactly) which really tires the shoulder out after a 4 set bar gig. I started using my 1974 Tele Thinline (about 7 lbs.) with Fender humbuckers as my main guitar. It was a compromise between sound and weight. I have a Strat but never really bonded with it like I have with my Tele's. A Strat made out of marble is wild, it must have weighed 25 lbs or more! The LP is a great studio guitar but after the last song I recorded, my shoulder felt fatigued after the session. Farrell |

Looks great Farrell, nicely aged. I will put mine on here when I get round to it, it is younger than your one and it has been saved from me getting rid of it on a ridiculous whim |

Guitars Music Man Luke and Bass ![[image ]](http://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=14715.0;attach=14700) My Strat I bought in 1982 - one of the very first Squires ever made - made in Japan - known as JV squires ![[image ]](http://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=14715.0;attach=14702) The first Squire's - apparently the story goes that when Fender saw this, they actually cried as they new that they couldn't compete - and they stopped Squire using a Fender headstock. The rest they say, is history. All I can say that it is a damn fine guitar - and had it for many years. Played it on the Pinkish Floyd track - so doesn't sound too bad either. Worked in a metal factory for 5 weeks for that guitar! ![[image ]](http://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=14715.0;attach=14704) |

Here's my 2002 Epiphone Elite Les Paul. These were built at Fujigen in Japan, the same factory that built the first Fender Squiers. Much better build quality than the Korean etc models with US hardware and pickups made by Gibson. Weighs 10.5 pounds but I prefer a heavier guitar. ![[image]](http://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=14715.0;attach=14718) Also have a Squier SQ Strat from 1983 - this was the one that followed the JV series. Again built by Fujigen, Japan ![[image]](http://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=14715.0;attach=14720) |
