Ad astra per alia porci - Steinbeck

I've been wanting to write a yule/holiday song for a few weeks and today this came popping out. Feel free to let me know if it's too... umm overwrought or whatever. And thanks for all the feedback lately. You guys are great.

A Christmas Prayer
Acoustic and Vox: T.C.

Born on a winter's day
But which date she just can't say
Always thought she had it rough
Now she thinks she's had enough

She's living in her second home
She's by herself but never alone
She shares a room with two boys
They share their food, clothes and toys

Her mother said she'd come back for her some day
Soon as she got set up somewhere
That girl can only think about her mom tonight
As she says her Christmas prayer

There's a girl who is all alone
There's a lot of pain in that home
They tease her 'cause she's got one hand
She wonders why, she can't understand

This is excellent, TC!  The verses remind me of Tom Petty a bit. I think this is my favourite song of yours. Well done.

These are just songs that may become memories.

Hi TC, have to agree with 64, this is possibly the best I've heard you sing and play and a reminder that Christmas can be as stark for some people as sparkling for others. Superb................Willie
