To my teenage mind, it was because everyone knew guitar players got chicks like this...  Tongue

Now, I am just happy with this...  Shocked

Hey, my favourite coffee! Smiley

I used to think I had a muse. Its nature would change with time. Usually it was someone female, imaginary (eg a film star or a character in a book) or real (someone I fancied). The main thing was that it was something that inspired longing in me - so usually someone who was, at that moment, unobtainable.

I kind of relied on it as some sort of mystical source of my inspiration, almost like I hadn't really written the things themselves, just captured them.

Now I realise it's all down to me. What I do is what I do. There ain't no muse really. I have longings, no-one else puts them there, they're mine. Sometimes I'm in the mood to express them through songwriting, sometimes through lying on the sofa... So, problem (the "agh! my muse has deserted me" problem) solved! Smiley

The missus is very useful and helpful as a listener, but she ain't the one who writes the things, nor is she the one who usually inspires them (unless there's something I want to say to or about her, but I can do that without songs).

I am surprised nobody yet said: "my wife of course is my muse..."  Tongue

Tinkerbell IS my wife.
