I called Dial-A-Prayer, they told me to go to hell

« on: March 13, 2011, 01:36:48 pm »

Originally performed by Leonard Cohen. And again by Joe Cocker.

Daniel Desete handles the vocal quite nicely.
Well done, Dan!

I just messed around on the guitars and bass.
Drums courtesy of the DR-880.

Thank you, SG.

It's a good thing music transcends reality. Even if we took Manhatten we wouldn't have a place to store it.

Lovely moody job here, it creates a great atmosphere but is different enough from the original to have your own unique spin on it. Great collab guys!

Cheers,

I missed this too! Fine work, fellas. Love the sultry, late-night tone on the guitar. Serious skills!

Geir, Greeny, thanks for your kind assessments.

Daniel made this tune come alive. Such a resonant voice.
I had a lot of fun with this one.

I'm fudging the time frame a bit, but I think it was around 400 years ago, in some
countries, a song played in a minor key was considered the devil's music and anyone
caught playing such a song frequently was put to death. In most painful ways.

Such preposterous nonsense! Just like the people of today that still believe in the boogey man.
Scary sapsucker, ain't he...she...it?

Hi, Mark, thanks for the atta-boy.

If you're anywhere near Connecticut the next time you fire up your barbecue, contact me immediately.
I can get there faster than flies on steroids.

Nigel, sorry I missed your message. Thanks for giving a listen.

Daniel introduced me to Leonard Cohen's music. Prior to this, I was not familiar with him or his music.
He has a good bit on YouTube if you fancy checking him out.
